Latest Brugler Live Cattle Report

-More Brugler Reports

Cattle are expected to open 10 to 30 cents lower this morning. Wholesale prices are dropping into the holiday weekend as expected. Choice was down $1.02 to $163.64 in the pm report, with select down 2 at $156.88. Cash cattle traded at $97 after some feedlots dropped their asks and it became apparent that packers didn’t want a big forward book ahead of the Labor Day holiday weekend. USDA weekly beef export sales totaled 11,600 MT. That was down from the prior week, but still 8% above the 4 week moving average. Japan and Vietnam were the largest buyers.
